Mark House is my mentor and my business partner at empoweringLEADERS. He brings together three things I care about deeply: real executive experience, the craft of coaching and a lifelong love of music.
Before coaching, Mark spent his career as a global technology executive, from NASA to enterprise software companies, including leading a team across nine time zones. He is a graduate of the Georgetown Executive Leadership Coaching Program and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation, with more than 5,000 hours of work with leaders at all levels.
Mark holds the PCC credential I am working toward, and having him as a mentor keeps me learning. As business partners, we are building new work together at empoweringLEADERS.
Founded by Mark, empoweringLEADERS develops collaborative leadership at the individual, team and organizational level, with a special focus on technology leaders. Its clients range from new managers to Fortune 500 senior executives.
The work is built on empowerâ„¢, a seven-step roadmap for professional and personal goals: engage, manage, partner, observe, wonder, execute and renew.
Music has always been part of my life. I am a founding member of the band Everything, best known for "Hooch," and I believe music has a lot to teach us about leading people.
Mark feels the same way. On leadingwithmusic.com he shares leadership lessons alongside stories from some of music's greatest legends, each paired with a track, and empoweringLEADERS runs Team Bonding through Music workshops for global, virtual and hybrid teams.
Together, Mark and I are developing Leading with Music, which brings music into leadership development. I have spoken on Music and Leadership at ICF Converge in San Diego (2025) and Paris (2026), and this partnership is where that work keeps growing.
